The Torii Dining Table takes its name and its spirit from the traditional Japanese gate — an architectural form defined by the power of reduction. Two uprights, a lintel, a crossbeam. Nothing more than is needed. Nothing less than is beautiful.

That same philosophy of considered simplicity runs through every detail of the Torii. The legs are clean and precisely tapered, the apron unadorned, the joints tight and honest. There is no decorative flourish here — the beauty comes entirely from proportion, from the quality of the timber and from the care with which it has been made.

Handcrafted in our workshop just outside Edinburgh from the finest solid oak, each Torii Dining Table is individually made and finished by hand. The rich, open grain of the oak deepens with age, ensuring the table becomes more beautiful with every year it is used.

The Torii is available in a range of premium hardwoods — including ash, walnut and mahogany — for those who wish to complement a different interior palette. Dimensions can be tailored to your exact requirements.
