Our 5-step commissioning process
1. Brief
Whether you have only the first shoots of an idea or a fully-realised vision, we work closely with you to define your specific requirements.
All aspects of the project - function, location, aesthetics, dimensions, materials and budget - are discussed to ensure you end up with a piece you love.
2. Design
Glencairn Furniture utilises the latest technology to create three-dimensional, realistic furniture designs.
This process enables you to be confident in what the finished item will look like.

3. Approve
Once we have agreed on the final design, the materials to be used and the price of the commission, the exciting bit begins - the making.
Normally at this stage a 50% deposit is paid. This secures studio time and allows us to order in the right materials.
4. Make
From our Edinburgh workshop we bring your design to life.
Through the use of quality materials and the highest standards of craftsmanship, we turn your idea into a reality.
And all this with a deep commitment to sustainability and the environment.
5. Deliver
Depending on the scale of the project, your furniture should be ready for delivery or collection in 6-12 weeks.
Once complete, you can congratulate yourself on helping create a real piece of functional art.
You can now look forward to years of enjoyment.
