Our storage pieces are designed and handcrafted in our workshop just outside Edinburgh, Scotland.
A well-made storage piece is one of the most personal commissions we undertake — built not just to contain things, but to be kept. At Glencairn Furniture, we approach every chest, box and rack with the same craft and intention as our largest pieces: the finest solid hardwoods, traditional joinery and finishes that will deepen and improve with age. These are pieces designed to outlast their original purpose and become genuine heirlooms.
You can order a piece exactly as shown, have it personalised or made to your own dimensions and timber choice, or commission an entirely new design through our bespoke commissioning service.

Toy boxes don’t have to be just for a child’s early years. They can be cherished for a lifetime. That’s why we’ve created a cabinet built to last for generations.
Meticulously handcrafted from the finest solid hardwood (shown here in walnut), our heirloom toy box is characterised by classic raised panels on its front, sides and lid.
Safety features include finger safety gaps around the front and sides, as well as high quality slow soft-closing hinges.
Options exist to personalise the toy box with carved letter on the front. The lettering can be left as bare wood or gilded with 24-carat gold to create a stunning motif.
Either way, this special touch turns the toy box into a unique and meaningful heirloom that can be cherished for years to come.
