All our side tables are designed and handcrafted in our workshop just outside Edinburgh, Scotland.

A side table is the quiet workhorse of any room — always there, always useful, rarely celebrated. At Glencairn Furniture, we think it deserves better. From the alluring flared legs of the Sellette Pedestal to the ingenious dual-purpose design of the Restall Side Table and Stool, every piece in our side table collection is handcrafted with the same rigour and attention to detail as our most ambitious commissions.

You can order a side table exactly as shown, have it tailored to your specific dimensions or timber, or commission an entirely new design through our bespoke commissioning service.

Sellete Pedestal Table

Description:

Meaning literally ‘harness’ in French, this sellette or pedestal was originally designed to support a whisky cabinet.

However, its alluring flared legs and pleasing proportions has made it a stylish standalone piece.

Equally at home in a quiet corner or pride of place in a room, it is ideal for showcasing a statement lamp, prized vase or flower arrangement.

Available in oak, walnut and ash. Other hardwoods may be available on request.

Lockdown Side Table

Description:

This striking side table was designed during the Coronavirus lockdown.

With limited access to materials, the prototype was made from a reclaimed oak worktop and an old, abandoned kitchen table leg.

The legs draw inspiration from the popular hairpin design of the 1940s, reinterpreted here in sustainable ash rather than steel.

Also available in oak and walnut, or another wood of your choice.

Delta Tall Side Table

Description:

Meet the inaugural piece from Glencairn Furniture’s Delta Collection, the Delta Tall Side Table.

The striking base and legs are made from ebonised ash, angled towards the centre by a single degree to create a subtle and elegant tapering effect.

The apron and top are crafted from solid black American walnut, with the profiling echoing the chamfered edges of the legs and base.

Whether a lamp, vase, or objet d’art, the Delta Tall Side Table is perfect for showcasing your favourite possessions.

The table is also available in a range of different timbers and finishes.

Restall Side Table and Stool

Description:

Never be caught out again by unexpected dinner guests with these stylish polymorphic side tables.

The addition of beautifully upholstered Harris Tweed cushions quickly transforms these side tables into emergency dining stools. The cushions are attached at the top of all three legs with ties of the same material.

Shown here in oak with rich Harris Tweed Orange 265 cloth.

Also available in either walnut or ash, and with a range of complementary Harris Tweed fabrics.
