Description:
Shown here in rich mahogany, this large and spacious bookcase is designed predominantly for period homes and interiors.
Its traditional construction incorporates an ornate handmade cornice, fluted trim and a sophisticated skirted base.
Tradition, however, does not exclude practicality: the four highest shelves can be adjusted both upwards and downwards to offer multiple storage options, each finished off with solid brass shelf supports and sleeves.
This design works just as successfully in three quarter or half height versions - the latter with a solid top for additional storage and display. These are priced accordingly.
Whatever the size you choose, this bookcase would look equally stunning in European oak or American black walnut.

Description:
Taking its name from the Italian word for support, the Mantenere bookcase draws its inspiration from a key element in the design philosophy of Finn Juhl.
The ‘born’ elements of the bookcase - its shelves, sides and back - are all separated from the ‘bearing’ legs. This was an approach that Finn Juhl took for some of his most famous chairs, including the 45 Chair.
Although very different in style from Finn Juhl’s iconic furniture, the Mantenere bookcase shares the same sense of visual lightness and elegance.
Each of the four legs curve in gently on their outside edges, as does the end grain on each of the shelves and top.
The Mantenere bookcase is also available as a three-quarter and a full-height bookcase. And as with all Glencairn Furniture, it can be handcrafted to your specific requirements.

Description:
This deceptively simple design was driven by a desire to create a traditional bookcase with a modern twist.
The chevron-shaped sides combine a solid structure with an open aesthetic, providing a welcoming display for prized books, framed photographs or objet d’art.
By utilising knockdown wedged tenons and hidden connector fittings, the design also allows for easy disassembly into ‘flat-pack’ form. This permits a convenient and more environmentally-friendly means of transportation and shipping.
Shown here with three shelves, bespoke versions could include a three-quarter or full height bookcase with tailored shelf spacing.
Oak, sweet chestnut, walnut and sapele options are available, with either matching or contrasting wedge tenons.
